10 Reasons To Start Affiliate Marketing
Ten Reasons Why Affiliate Marketing Should Monetize Your Website:
-
Internet based, can run from anywhere:
– Many internet business opportunities at first glance may appear to provide the chance to work from home but there always seems to be a point of contact that requires your regular attention in person. Realistically, you may feel quite comfortable where you are but knowing that you can go anywhere and work from there as well as during any hours is priceless. It’s like living in a world where everyone is issued a standard deck of cards, but by some freak chance you were issued a stack of wildcards to play as you will.
-
Part-time or full time
– Obviously, full time will reap greater benefits than part time. This is not because of the math involved either. It has more to do with the quality of work you will put out as well as the passion involved in producing it. Putting in a half day of derivative copy and features will get you that kind of result. A full day of solid text that is well researched and written will get you the customer confidence that is required to convert to a sale. The attractive thing about the part-time full-time option is that you can try this out part time with little commitment and find out for yourself if this works for you.
-
No inventory or stock
– Anyone who has been involved in traditional retail will tell you that there are quite a few aspects to the business that are not necessarily fun or exciting. Dealing with lost, stolen or damaged merchandise is one of them. As an affiliate, your goal is to promote the product via a channel that you create. Quite simply, rather than a business hiring a whole slew of marketers to do a job and pay them a full time salary for varying results, they have left it to affiliates. For them this means paying only for results. For you, is means a commision rather than a salary. The earning potential is up to you, but at 3-50% commision, it won’t take much for you to make more, with less work, than a salaried job.
-
No products to Ship
– No packaging, no tax, no returns
-
No Payments to collect
– The only payments you collect are the ones coming to you
-
No customer support
– Again this is the job of the people you’ve created a marketing channel for
-
Quick payment
– Many affiliate programs let you set the payment limit as low as $100.
-
Giant growth potential
– There is a MASSIVE shift right now to The Internet as an information, products and services channel. In any given niche, there are still many areas lacking in coverage and quality content. Filling some of that gap will have fantastic rewards for you.
-
The actual science of this is just starting
– If you look at the kind of sales efforts out there, the thinking is still in terms of static advertisements meant to catch the eye and inspire a click. There is little or no use of social media, interactivity or real time communication. Each of these areas is a) Very new and only starting to be explored b) Fully equipped with tools to make accessing and utilizing these groups very simple.
Affiliate marketing is at the core of the shift from mainstream media to the internet. -
- This shift is huge and happening now.
The majority of people watching Television today are over 50 years old. This means that the majority of purchasers are online and not watching the expensive advertising put out by the large multinational companies. These same companies cannot reach the same mass of people with a single pitch as they did in the past. While they most certainly miss those days, they don’t have time to cry about it. Instead, they have adjusted their strategy to include people outside their company that are willing to open up marketing channels for them, and that’s where you come in.
- There is no catch to this because it takes work.
What you are getting ‘for free’ that is different than traditional work patterns is your own schedule, work you truly enjoy, the chance to enter in at low risk and most importantly, the ability to control your own destiny. What do you have to do? As mentioned before, the job of an affiliate is to open up a new channel for a company in a niche that they have not yet gone into or one in which they are under-represented. This means a website or blog that has compelling content and gets loyal readers who trust you and have a use for your information. The more time they spend at your site, the greater the chance there will be that they purchase via a link that you provide.
- Is that it? No, there is more to learn:
- Which products to promote and how to research them
- Writing content that transitions well and inspires the desire to buy
- Creating a community around a product
- Creating a support channel that creates a mood of ‘convertible gratitude’
- Sales techniques that work
- How and where to simplify your text and where to add more detail and complexity.
There is a lot more information on this as well as a nice overview on the subject at Opportunity.com John Reese has put together an affiliate marketing course along with a whole host of tools that allow you to automate the affiliate process. This means you can focus more on the content and less on the busy work. Once the system is in place, the affiliate engine handles monetization automatically. Have a look at the video, it’s well worth your time since it provides a great overview of affiliate marketing and the truly enormous growth potential there.
John Reese is famous for making $1 million online in 24 hours. Because of this and his highly successful courses he is one of the most highly regarded gurus teaching internet marketing tactics. What’s amazing about his new course, aside from the content, is that it is being offered at such a low price. These courses often go for hundreds of dollars a month. His is selling for much less, here’s what’s included:
- Huge base of affiliate marketing tutorials. This is key since there is a lot to learn.
- A giant affiliate offer directory which keeps track of which offers are hottest.
- A Research Department that saves you time by looking into these offers themselves and reporting back on hot products, keyword activity, seasonal opportunities and much more.
- An alert system that will tell you when offers come up that meet your criteria.
- Tools to store, organize and optimize your affiliate relationships.
As I said, this kind of opportunity typically sells for hundreds of dollars a month. John has decided, however, to reach out to a wider audience. This is because affiliate marketing is a huge growth area and he sees it’s potential. He is the leader in this sense. Others may follow but by then, many of the niche areas will be fully developed and people buying those products will struggle to get a piece of the action. Think about it, this is someone who can afford to buy the domain Opportunity.com, he’s for real and this video is a great introduction to what you will be getting for the monthly membership price of $39.95.
In terms of marketing knowledge, this is a great deal and for affiliate marketing, now is the right time. Become a Charter Member of Opportunity.com

Absolutely, affiliate marketing has so many benefits. Many more vendors, especially information based products, are paying instantly…nice when you are on a shoestring budget.
Thats another point, with planning and diligence it does not cost an arm and a leg to begin earning bucks online in affiliate marketing.
You are also absolutely correct when you say that there is work involved, its not hard work but one does need to acknowlege that the hands off money earning is somewhat over stated.
One other point you made that is spot on…there is no better way to get a good start than to invest in a training program or mentor.
Ihave seen several, some are much better than others stick with names that are known and have been around awhile…John Reese, Jimmy D. Brown, Lee McIntyre…just a couple that are very honest and know their stuff.
To your success

i am just starting out with affiliate marketing. i have signed up with Clickbank and Amazon. i am still reading lots of stuffs on the net about how to be successful on affiliate marketing.
You are so right on track with the training. Affiliate marketing can be a profitable business but you need to know how to do it. You want to be unique which is why people should never use the banners etc, that the company provides.
Some of the most successful affiliate marketers are masters at spinning an idea into a unique creating. And of course knowing their target market.
